Born in Salo’, Italy, in 1971, Luca Lucini started studying classical guitar with Massimo Ferrari at the tender age of eight. Consequently he studied with Giampaolo Bandini and Giovanni Puddu, and attended masterclasses with Paolo Pegoraro, Aniello Desiderio, Alvaro Pierri, Tillman Hoppstock, Oscar Ghiglia, and the Trio di Parma.
A winner of several music competitions, Luca features regularly as a solo and chamber-music guitarist and collaborates with top musicians such as the violinists Marco Fornaciari (international soloist and soloist of I Solisti Veneti) and Nobuhiko Asaeda (international soloist and ex-leader of the Tokyo City Philharmonic), and conductor Jose Luis Basso. His concerts in Europe and Asia have led to performances in the Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra chamber-music season, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino season, the Torrechiara Festival Weekend Mozartiani in Ravello, the International Guitar Festivals in Parma and Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Festival de Radio France.
Luca is equally a member of the duo èl tan(g)o with bandeneon artist, Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi, with whom he performs in concerts and music-theatre shows. In 2010, they recorded the CD ‘el tan(g)o’ which includes works by Piazzolla, Ramirez, Scarpino-Caldarella, Schiffrin, Bacalov, and Falloni.
Lucini is the artistic director of the Musical Evenings in Salò and of the Advanced Guitar Courses in Tignale. Luca Lucini plays on a guitar made by the Portuguese Ferando Lima.
He teaches at the Conservatorio “A. Scontrino” in Trapani.
